Outdoor tiling is a little different from indoor tiling. When setting tile on an already existing concrete surface, a special kind of procedure has to take place in order to insure the tile does not crack if the concrete cracks. There are only two types of concrete: the concrete that is cracked and the concrete that is going to crack. So when setting tile on concrete we take an extra step to protect the tile from cracking when the concrete beneath it cracks. Below are some before and after pictures of a porch area with cracked concrete.
